Liquid Clips — Privacy policy

Who we are

This policy explains how Liquid Clips ("Liquid Clips", "we", "us") handles personal data for the Liquid Clips desktop app, liquidclips.app, and related services. For any privacy request, contact support@liquidclips.app.

Data we collect

Account: email address (and name, if you provide it) via our authentication provider, Clerk.
Billing status: plan, subscription status, and renewal dates via Whop/Stripe. We do not store your card details.
Affiliate attribution: an affiliate id captured first-touch from a referral link (the jnr_ref cookie) and stored with your account if you sign up through one.
Product usage: privacy-respecting analytics (PostHog) keyed on internal IDs only — e.g. account/affiliate ids, tier, and event counts.
Support: messages you send us.

What we do not collect

Your source videos, exported clips, or local transcripts — these are processed on your device and never uploaded for local-tier features.
Your email, names, filenames, file paths, or transcript text are never sent to our analytics.

Hosted features on paid tiers (Growth/Autopilot) send the relevant audio/clip to our AI processor to generate the result, which is then discarded. Local-only tiers keep all content on your machine.

Cookies

jnr_ref — remembers the affiliate who referred you (first-touch, ~12 months) so attribution is fair.
Analytics — PostHog uses cookies/local storage to measure funnels with internal IDs. No advertising trackers.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under UK/EU GDPR and the CCPA), you may request access to, correction of, export of, or deletion of your personal data, and you may object to certain processing. Email support@liquidclips.app and we'll action it.

Retention

We keep account and billing records for as long as your account is active and as required for legal, tax, and accounting purposes, then delete or anonymise them.

International transfers

Our providers may process data outside your country under appropriate safeguards (e.g. Standard Contractual Clauses).

Children

Liquid Clips is not directed to anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
